- Is unquestionably the "free spirit" on the team and has fun in all that he does
- Enjoys pushing the envelope (has gone wild boar hunting with dogs and a knife in Texas)
- Grew up in Texas and has always enjoyed the outdoors
- Originally enrolled at the Air Force Academy where he excelled, but transferred to Ohio State after his sophomore season and sat out the 2003 campaign
- At Air Force, he was voted a team co-captain as a sophomore by his teammates demonstrating his ability to lead
- Began the 2004 season as backup to Mike D'Andrea at middle linebacker and played extensively
- Moved into a starting role when D'Andrea went down with a knee injury in early October
- Makes plays and is another one of those "Chris Spielman types" who love to play the game and do so with great intensity
- Has averaged 7.0 tackles per game during his career
- Was married on Valentine's Day of 2004
- His wife, Stephanie, who is a graduate of Texas A&M, is a high school teacher at Hilliard Davidson.
